Mondays Encouragement by

He was difficult to look at. He had no physically attractive qualities. No beauty or valor in him. People would hide their faces from him.
Looking back, more than likely we wouldn't have loved him. Very few did. However, even now so many struggle with learning to love Jesus. Sometimes the same things that kept the people that we read of in the Bible keep us from loving Him. It was hard for people who were married, successful, or somewhat knowledgable to love Jesus. Loving Jesus causes us to first look at ourselves. When we see ourselves, we see the hideousness and the filthiness of sin. We smell the foul stench of our sinful lives. It causes us to look at our commitment to God and see our shortcomings. It also causes us to realize that God loves "a wretch like me".
So the question is now, will you love Him? Christ tells us that loving Him entails doing what he says (John 14:15). Loving Him means that we will keep His Word (John 14:23). Loving Him means that we will love the people that He loves. Loving Him even means that we will love our enemies--those who spitefully use us and persecute us. Loving Him means that I will be obedient to His Will.
Several missed the opportunity to embrace Him. You won't miss that opportunity. Make the choice to embrace the Master today, everyday.
"...for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." Matt 25:35-36
