Let The Madness Begin: Vegan Diaries

It's been 2 months since I've made a commitment to follow a plant based diet. I have gained many benefits from my decision such as, better health, more energy, and loss of body fat (WooHoo!). I have also had many stereotypes placed on me as I have come to find out that being vegan isn't exactly the most popular thing to announce but it is certainly one of the better decisions I've ever made.

Being on a diet that consists of fruits and vegetables allow you freedom to explore exciting new foods. You will be amazed at how the earth produces so many different types of vegetation.
There is a great reward in knowing what you are eating and also not eating, in order to gain and maintain energy throughout the day.

Can I be Vegan and Still Be an Athlete?

Yes, You Most Certainly Can!
I never knew there was such a title as "Vegan Athlete." Horror stories are always told about how vegans and vegetarians have health problems because food variations were not practiced and put in to place. The stories lead me to believe that plant based diets make the body weaker instead of stronger because of small protein intake and low muscle mass.
TO THE RESCUE!
However, Daniel and the gang (from the bible), Brendon Brazier (through his book THRIVE), and a couple of other encouraging folks let me know that it was very possible to be on a plant based diet and still be a strong athlete. This gave me hope...
