What to Eat for Healthy Hair
"Your hair grows about 1/4 to 1/2 inch every month, and the foundation of all of our new hair, skin, and nail growth is the nutrients we eat," says Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, a Chicago-based dietitian. "If you eat a healthy diet, you will grow stronger and healthier cells throughout your entire body -- inside and out" (webmd.com). If you have thin hair and have always had thin, fine hair then you will never have thick hair, but its working with what you have is the key. A good nutritious diet that includes growth promoting protien and iron can definitely make a difference!
For a Healthy Scalp!
Salmon is a great food choice rich in Omega 3s.
Avocados - I'll share with you several ways to eat avocados. You can include Avocados in your diet by cutting them in half and sprinkling a little lemon juice on top. You can make avocado into a spread for your sandwich or burger. Another way to have avocado is by cutting them up and sprinkling on top of your salad.
Chia seeds - Drink your chia seeds! You can add chia seeds to any beverage. When adding you may want to let them sit for a min to soak up the beverage but if you let them sit to long, your chia seeds will start creating gel so be careful. You can sprinkle your chia seeds! Chia seeds can be sprinkled on yogurt, soup, fish, salad, steak, veggies, anything you want.
To Avoid Brittle Hair
To avoid brittle hair eat beans. Beans are high in iron and zinc. Iron and zinc deficiencies can lead to brittle hair.
For Longer Hair
Eat foods high in biotin. Biontins are necessary for healthy cell growth and contribute to healthy hair growth.
Dark leafy greens including kale, collards, and spinach are foods high in biotin. Peanuts and eggs are great options as well.
