Beat the Heat! Oh and Happy 4th of July!

Heat Wave Safety Tips for Adults

Stay Cool
:
Reschedule strenuous activity for the coolest part of the day. Children, seniors and anyone with health conditions should stay in the coolest place possible

Dress light for summer: Wear light colored, light weight clothing to reflect heat and sunlight.

Choose your drink wisely: Drink plenty of water, non alcoholic and decaffeinated beverages. Your body needs fluids to keep it cool. Drink fluids even if you don't feel thirsty. People who have epilepsy or heart, kidney, liver disease, are on fluid restrictive diets, or have a problem with fluid retention should consult a physician before increasing their consumption of fluids.

Watch out for the sun: Sunburn reduces your body's ability to dissipate heat
